There is a special time for this meeting: 7:45-9pm. We want to do the round robin at 7:45pm because we will be listening to the rally against Uber and Lyft that takes place in San Francisco. These companies have been taking advantage of blind citizens throughout the nation by passing them up, refusing to take their trips, etc. It's time that they heard from the blind. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Tonight’s guest speakers are John and Sandy Halverson. They
received the tenBroek award at this year’s national convention. John has been a
member of the NFB since 1973. He spoke about how he learned about the Federation
and how it has helped him through his life. He also spoke about various
positions that he has held within the NFB in different states. Sandy’s story is
so different than John’s. She is a graduate of the Maryland School for the
Blind. The 2024 national convention was her 47<sup>th</sup> convention. She spoke
about her various positions in the Federation in every state she has lived in.
She became the first blind court reporter in the United States. Members asked
questions. <span></span></p>
