I3S received $5,000 and recognition at the NFB national convention.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I3S provides peer-to-peer support to blind and low vision individuals in the Greater Baltimore / DC area. I3S meets twice a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays and has been in existence for 12 years. This organization provides a community for individuals to connect, including health and wellness activities on Thursdays and game nights, family and community activities, and other social and educational activities on Tuesdays.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I3S was founded by Joyce Brooks, Richard Pratt, and Lois Staves. Joyce Brooks accepted the award on behalf of the organization. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Many members of the NFB of Maryland community regularly participate in I3S activities.
