 Applicants of diverse backgrounds, professions, gender, geography,

 Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on

Leggett's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County
Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public
as part of the confirmation process.

 Leggett Seeks Applicants for Commission on People with Disabilities

 County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill 14
vacancies on the Montgomery County Commission on People with
Disabilities. Four vacancies must be filled by representatives of
organizations or agencies that provide services to people with
disabilities; eight vacancies must be filled by representatives of
people with disabilities; and two representatives must be filled by a
parent of a person with disabilities.

 The Commission advises the County Executive on programs and services
concerning the nearly 190,000 residents with disabilities.

 Members serve three-year terms without compensation, but are eligible
for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended.
The Commission meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month
(except July and August) at the Executive Office Building in Rockville.
Members are expected to serve on at least one committee or work group
that meets approximately once every month on its own schedule. For more
