Subject: SAT. Oct. 22: E-reader accessibility: Kindles and Nooks

This month (this week!) the Saturday Adaptive Technology Session will be on e-Reader accessibility, presented by Kamran Rasul from American University. He will feature, demonstrate and lead a discussion of the accessibility features of the Kindle Reader, Kindle Reader for Windows & Apple, and NookColor -- not the iPad, sorry, I was wrong. Try them out and see how they work and learn about whether any of these is right for you or someone you know. Definitely a learning curve, hopefully not a cliff!
Date: Saturday, Oct. 22.
Time: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Place: Rockville Memorial Library, 2nd floor meeting room, 21 Maryland Ave.Rockville 20850.
Parking: 2 hours free parking at the public garages across the street from the Library (get validation in the Library).
MetroAccess drop off: There's a pull-out in the Town square across from Gold's Gym and the Austin Grill. The Library is in the same building with Thai Pavillion Restaurant, which is directly on Maryland Ave. If more ifnormation or ADA accommodation is needed, please call Francie Gilman at 240-777-0959 or email drcinfo at montgomerycountymd.gov.

This program is sponsored by the Disability Resource Center Library Advisory Committee.
