Subject: Saturday Adaptive Technology Sessions for August and beyond

We're excited about the fall line-up of Saturday Adaptive Technology Sessions (SATS) at Montgomery County Public Libraries, which are sponsored by the Disability Resource Center Library Advisory Committee. See below, and please help us spread the word.

August 24: Out and About with the Trekker Breeze -- Navigation by audio, at the Silver Spring Library, limited to 12 participants to ensure that all have a chance to use the units brought by ITG. RSVP required, see below for details, flyer attached.
September 28: Learn about the iPad for seniors who have low vision, with Moira Williams of Envision Technology, at the Davis Library.
October 26: MD TAP: Overview of services and hands-on with the Maryland Technology Assistance Program, with Denise Schuler of MD TAP. Location to be announced.
November 23: The High Incidence Accessible Technology (HIAT) program at MCPS are the team of experts who train and assist MCPS teachers in determining solutions for students who may benefit from adaptive technologies. Location to be announced.

Saturday August 24: Out and About with the Trekker Breeze:
Audio way-finding can mean independence for individuals who are blind or directionally challenged. This is a follow-up to the June program. The Trekker Breeze is a hand-held device that provides spoken GPS-based navigation and orientation information. Join Greg Hooks of ITG to learn how the Trekker works and then go for a guided walk with a Trekker. Limited to 12 participants - RSVP, please!
