We have a meeting this Saturday at the Long branch library, 8800 Garland Avenue, beginning at 1:30.

We will have a special guest speaker, Brandon Cox from the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind to talk about and hopefully demonstrate some of the features of Click n Go Maps, which will be available for Metro stations over the phone, the internet, your mobile devices, and in braille and large print.  Please come and invite your friends.  If you do not use the Metro, you should certainly come.  We hope that more blind people will be less intimidated by puvblic transportation.  If you are tired of waiting in the cold alone for MetroAccess, you can wait occasionally in the cold and not usually alone for a train.

We will send a list in the next few days of nuts that are available.  We are not out of anything yet, but I will tell you that we have six bags of walnuts left, so if you want them, speak now.  Please bring money for nuts you have sold (or eaten).

At 3:00, we will bid on some auction items that got left at Janice's house instead of going to the state convention.  We will allow phone-in bids, but Sligo members will have the privilege of taking the double chocolate delight cookies home right away.  Bring your checkbook or cash.  Proceeds will go to the NFB of Maryland tenBroek auction.

You may pay dues for 2014 beginning this month.  Dues are $4.
