Hi Tom, 
I am working on getting a diabetes education seminar in March. I have an
extensive plan with several topics including diabetes and low vision. 
I will be asking you to our cane and fall prevention expert. Pauline has
suggested that your wife will be a good diabetes educator. I will have
more on this at the convention and upcoming chapter meetings.

     At the beginning of this message, actually at the bottom of the
list of
messages, there is a note on a diabetes seminar. Just to learn a bit I
attended a meeting of the diabetes support group here in Leisure World
about
a week-and-a-half ago. None of the points made by the presenter nor of
the
other attendees concerned retinopothy. The leader was talking with
someone
else when I arrived before the meeting began and the same happened at
the
end of the meeting, so I left having spoken to no one. Summary: Those
attendees did not seem like anyone interested in anything we might have
to
offer.

What I need is lessons in "schmoozing." From the messages on this email
I
couldn't tell who was the organizer on the issue of diabetes.

Hi Tom,
The $10, Starbucks gift card is fine.  Remember, the rum balls would be
for
the bake auction. Perhaps you could add some Starbucks coffee with the
gift
card.  I know you can buy the bags at the Giant, and probably some other
places in addition to Starbucks. I would get the ground coffee, rather
than

Having just checked the value of the STARBUCKS card it turns out to be

Hi all,

Don't forget about collecting door prizes for the state convention. Each
chapter has been requested to bring 10, but Sligo should probably bring
a
few more, since some of the chapters around the state are smaller than
ours.
If the prizes you bring are small, I will collect them on the bus and
get
them to Darlene. If they are too big to carry easily, you will have to
get
them to her at the Board meeting or during the convention. They don't
have
to be expensive.  My rule of thumb is:  bring something you would like
to
win. Let me know if you have something to contribute, since I will be
going
on the hunt for prizes soon.
