Thanks, Shawn.  The bad news is that we still have convention expenses, and
probably something else I'm not remembering.  

 

While we are talking about money, I would like to mention to everyone that
it is always appropriate for anyone to contribute to the NFB of Maryland
directly.  Most of us do that only at convention time.  I bring this up
because the expenses for BELL are monumental.  We spend several thousand
dollars getting children and adults to BELL.  Much of that money comes from
the NFB of Maryland.  In addition, we also pay the teacher, although her
expenses are actually much less than transportation costs.

 

BELL is a fantastic opportunity to meet young blind people and their
parents, and it is worth every penny we put into it.  Thanks to all of you
who volunteered-Ava, Joyce, Judy, Tom, Metmku, Jenny, Erin, Sharon, Yasmin,
Nesma, Janice. Thanks to Terry and Yasmin for lending braillers, and thanks
to the National harbor for making a contribution of $1400 to BELL.
