Riderwood to Host Symposium on Preventing Fraud against Seniors

This free event will take place in Maryland Hall (Montgomery Station
Clubhouse) with lunch served at noon.

Representatives from the Maryland Department of Aging, Montgomery County
Police Department, Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection and
the Maryland Chapter of AARP are scheduled to attend. Their topics will
include general consumer fraud, internet & telemarketing scams, identity
theft and financial investment cons. These experts will provide valuable
consumer protection advice and respond to questions, too.

The symposium is open to the public but seating is limited. To register,

MetroAccess-What is it and Who is it for? 

Metro Access is a paratransit service of the Washington Metropolitan
Area Transit Authority ("Metro"). It provides shared-ride, door-to-door
transportation service to people who are unable to use fixed-route
public transportation due to disability. Trips may take up to 50% longer
than rides that are not shared. Vehicles can be sedans or accessible
vans. Fares are twice the fastest comparable fixed-route fare, with a
maximum fare of $7 per one-way trip. 

Participants must be certified by Metro before they can use Metro
Access. Assessment testing takes place at Metro's headquarters, 600 5th
St., NW, Washington, D.C., 20001. For more information about
