Time to Prevent Falls
Falls are a leading cause of serious injuries in older adults that can lead to hospitalization, nursing home admission, and even death. But the good news is that they can be prevented.

Major risk factors include:
* Lack of exercise (Get up and move!)
* Medication side effects (Discuss with your healthcare provider.)
* Vision problems (Get your eyes checked.)
* Home/environmental hazards (Get a home safety check.)
* Chronic conditions (Talk to your healthcare provider.)

You should try to prevent falls all year long, but since September is Falls Prevention Month, there are more than 30 free activities throughout the County to learn how you can help yourself. CarFit helps drivers find their safest fit. Attend a FREE CarFit Checkup.
CarFit is an interactive program that teaches participants how to make their personal vehicles "fit" them to increase safety and mobility on the road. Each check up takes about 20 minutes.
