[Md-sligo] Nuts Are Still Available

We certainly do have nuts.  We especially have a lot of pecans, walnuts, nut and fruit mix, Baltimore bar mix, pistachios, and Debbie may have a lot of peanuts.  I have a few butter toffee, mixed nuts and Maryland mix.  I really don’t want to bring 7 or 8 boxes of nuts on Saturday, only to bring most of it back.  I would rather hear from you by e-mail or phone if you want something specific for Judy, Debbie or me to pre-pack.  Therefore, here is the list of nuts, extracted from the order form.  All bags are half-pound.

Cocktail peanuts: oil-roasted and salted. $2.50...........................................................................................................................

Butter-toffee peanuts (aka honey-roasted). $2.50

Jeppi Mix #82:  roasted peanuts, sesame sticks, raw natural almonds, corn nuts, roasted Spanish peanuts. $3.50

Baltimore Bar Mix:  Cashews, wasabi peas, pretzel gems, cocktail peanuts, sesame sticks, salted Spanish peanuts. $3.50

Maryland Mix:  Raisins, whole roasted almonds, raw sunflower kernels, raw pumpkin kernels, and whole roasted cashews................................................................................................................................................... $4.00

Jeppi nut and fruit mix:  raisins, apricots, prunes, raw cashews, raw peanuts, English walnut pieces, papaya tidbits, pineapple tidbits, banana chips. $3.50 

Almonds,whole. $4.50 

Pistachios: natural, dry roasted and salted. $5.50

Mixed nuts: Roasted cashews, natural almonds, pecan mammoth halves, blanched almonds, Brazil nuts, & English walnut halves, lightly salted. $5.50

We start at 1:30 PM and finish at about 3:30 PM, at which time we have refreshments.  We are renting the room until 4:30, but most of us have headed downstairs to look for rides by about 4:00 PM.

  Thanks to all of you who came to the Louis Braille celebration.  It was good to see everyone talking to people and showing how blind people do ordinary activities.  It was yasmin's idea, and even though we had a small group, we had a good opportunity to meet people.  It was good to meet aisha's teacher.

  Our chapter meeting is Saturday, January 10, at the Long Branch Library, 8800 Garland Avenue.  As part of the meeting, we will remember pauline Johnson.  We will have an opportunity to share memories of her.

  Our day in Annapolis will be Thursday, January 22.  Please let me know if you can make it by Saturday so that we can have the proper number of drivers. We will leave from Glenmont at 7:00 and New Carrollton at 7:15.  We will all return to New Carrollton at 8:00 p.m.  

  We will try to do our capitol Hill appointments on Tuesday, January 27.  On that day, there will be a celebration of the NFB's 75th anniversary in the Rayburn Building at 3:00.
