Hi Debbie,

If Conrad is not on this list, can you please forward this information to him? This is the Federal Work Program I talked to him about yesterday for new college graduates or above on the way back from Annapolis.

Thanks,

Michelle

Dear eFedLink Members:

The end of one year and start of another is always an exciting time. For those of us committed to increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the federal workforce, it's especially so - because it means the release of the new Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) database.

Hopefully all of you are already familiar with the WRP. But just in case not, it is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal employers-not just in Washington D.C., but nationwide - with highly motivated college students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to prove their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs. The WRP is run jointly by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy and the U.S. Department of Defense's Office of Diversity Management & Equal Opportunity.

The 2015 WRP database includes more than 1,800 students and recent graduates with disabilities who have been pre-screened through personal interviews with trained recruiters. It runs the gamut in terms of majors and career interests and includes everyone from freshman to graduate and law students. It represents some of the best and brightest on campuses across the country.

Since 1995, more than 6,000 students and recent graduates have received temporary and permanent employment opportunities through the program, many of them going on to becoming full-time federal employees. As such, the WRP is a key tool agencies can use to achieve their goals under Executive Order 13548. Given that this year is also the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, I encourage you to start it out right by considering how the WRP can help you fill your agency's staffing needs and inclusion goals for 2015.
