Montgomery County will be holding a special event at one of the ADA compliant bus stops in Montgomery County.

When: The event will be held on Thursday, July 23rd at 1:30pm
Where: at RideOn bus stop 25524, which is located on northbound Rockville Pike in Bethesda, at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro stop, i.e., a few hundred yards south of the intersection of Tuckerman Lane. This location can be accessed easily by RideOn, Metro or car (parking at the Grosvenor-Strathmore lot.) One can see the bus stop location by typing stop number 25524 at ttp://www.rideonrealtime.com/Schedule.aspx<http://www.rideonrealtime.com/Schedule.aspx>.)

Hello Elinor,

I'm writing to invite transit riders in your network who care about or depend upon bus stop accessibility to attend our upcoming celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We'll be celebrating at one of the many ADA compliant bus stops in Montgomery County.

The event will be held on Thursday, July 23rd at 1:30pm at RideOn bus stop 25524, which is located on northbound Rockville Pike in Bethesda, at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro stop, i.e., a few hundred yards south of the intersection of Tuckerman Lane.

Speakers will include Ike Leggett, Montgomery County Executive, Therese McMillan, Acting Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration and Seth Morgan, Chair, Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities. Other invitees include representatives from WMATA and Montgomery County Council - and many people who are transit riders who appreciate the importance of bus stop accessibility. We'll be touting how far Montgomery County has come in this arena, with the help of many good people in the county.

It should be a nice affair - we'll be celebrating with stories, statistics, cupcakes and more. We hope that many transit riders who appreciate accessibility will be able to join us. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or questions. Thanks!

~ Lorraine Driscoll
