[Md-sligo] Sad news

One of our former chapter members, Tina Gormley, passed away, I think on Tuesday.  She had been suffering a serious intestinal infection and suffered a brain hemorhage.  She  was in the University of Maryland hospital.  We would not have been able to visit her because she was in intensive care all the time she was there.

Tina went to college at the University of Maryland and married Patrick Gormley soon after she graduated.  She and Pat lived here for many years and were members of the Sligo Creek chapter.  Tina was treasurer of the chapter for a while.  She was also active in the student division.

Tina was an excellent cook and baker and baked large numbers of items for our bake sales.  I especially remember her pumpkin bread.  She also played a large part in managing a lunch sale which we had as a fundraiser for several years.  I remember having a coworker help me transport 20 lunches to work with sandwiches made from real turkey breast and Tina's fantastic potato salad.  

Tina and her husband and daughter, Andrea, moved to Frostburg to be near her family.  She was active in the Greater Cumberland chapter and managed soup sales for their fundraising.  Tina has two sisters in the area who, I am sure, will be there for Pat and for Andrea, who is 16 years old.

I don't know anything about funeral arrangements yet.

We will surely miss tina, and I will pass along more information as soon as I have it.
