I am very sure that you said "guide dog." I am very sure that all they heard
of what you said was "DOG!!!" Now that you have shouted it into their
half-closed ear, they decided that they had better admit that you really did
say "guide dog." Keep up the fight.

I just got his cab number.  It is cab 1066.

I called them, myself.

They said I did not say it was a guide dog, when I know I did.

I always call her a guide dog.

Terry, 

I am just a little confused. Please explain. 

Were you also at the pet store of it was just Hennery. 

When you say that Hennery was unable to get the cab number or the name, it
seems that Hennery was the passenger, and not you. The cab drivers will not
pick up another person if the person with the call&ride is not riding. 

Please call me to give me a better picture.

I made the phone call from the Banfield Pet Hospital, desk, which is within,
Pet Smart.

The address is 218 Kentland Blvd., Gaithersburg.

I call about 4:00 pm.  I told them we had a Gide dog and 2 people.

They gave us a 15-20 minute window.

They never give out any kind of code number, like Metro Access, does.

I put it on my call and ride card, under my name, Terry Powers.

They will not give Henry the cab or drivers name.  He knows it was under my
name.

I called back around 4:30, about, to complain and to request a new ride.

Two very important pieces of information for you. 

The complaint will not go to the Transportation. It will go to the taxi cab
commission. The MC311 person will send it to them. It should be fine. 

Do you remember the service request number. 

I will need the time date and the exact location of the situation. 

This is important to get a solution.

Hello to my fellow federationists;

I just had a battle with a Supervisor at the Regency taxi Company of
Montgomery County concerning a case of discrimination that Terry Powers, my
Guide Dog, and I experienced on Friday afternoon, the 12th of August.

We were trying to come home from the Pet Smart store in Gaithersburg. Terry
called a cab for us, and clearly told the dispatcher that we had a Service
Animal with us. When the driver arrived, he loudly said "I am not taking
that dog in my car. And, you can call for another cab."

We and several witnesses told him that he was breaking the law, and that it
was a case of discrimination against us and my dog.

I called the cab company, and was told by a dispatcher that they could not
tell me the name of the driver or the cab number because it was "Not their
policy to do so."

I finally got a hold of a supervisor today, and was told that "Their drivers
are contracted to drive for them, and have the right to refuse anyone with a
pet or service animal in their cars."

No other drivers from this company have ever refused to take us and my dog,
and they have all said that it is against the law for any driver to
discriminate against a disabled person with or without a service animal.

I have already placed a complaint with the Montgomery County 311 system who
will supposedly forward it on to the Maryland Department of Transportation,
and I am waiting to hear back from president meneckie, I am also going to
forward this complaint on to National Headquarters.

I am advising all of my friends to boycott regency Cab Company.
