[Md-sligo] Treasurer's report

I’m not sure when we started our chapter PAC contribution, but it was in memory of Steve Machalow, who was president of the Sligo Creek Chapter from about 1978 to 1984. He and his sighted wife Trish Miller were very active. He wrote the grant proposal that started the Job Opportunities for the Blind program which the NFB operated, sponsored by the US Department of Labor. For many years he didn’t know that his blindness was caused by multiple sclerosis. Later he and Trish got divorced; they had had two children. They named one of them Jacobus. Steve died sometime in the early 90s from complications of MS. His PAC plan was at $40 per month at that time. It’s probably time that we raised our contribution somewhat, although I would encourage as many of us as possible to be on the PAC plan as individuals, too.

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the report. I always enjoy the convention as it charges me up with the energy and hope for a better future.
I had one question, I would like to know, for how long the chapter has been giving into PAC plan, and when was the last time we increased the amount to $40.00.
