I first met Kenneth Jernigan in 1955 and had a variety of relationships with
him through the rest of his life. He introduced me to the Federation and
through it gave me my lifeI will never be able to pay back that debt no
matter what I give, but it is a debt I will bear willingly for the rest of
my life.

Hi Everyone, 

I would like to thank Debbie, Barbara and Renee, who came to the World of
Montgomery festival yesterday. We had two volunteer students who helped us
carry the banner and walk with us. 

The parade was very well attended, I wish we had more of us. We also had a
huge balloon which had National Federation of the blind in bright colors. 

In a crowd of thousand people, if someone asks you if you know Dr. Jernigan,
what would be your answer. 

We met someone who knew us and talked with us. 

The best news was that the weather was good and we had no problems.

I would like to have a final count of who is coming on Sunday.  We will meet
at the bus stop at 51 Mannakee Street (Montgomery College) at 12:30.  We
will have someone to direct us to where we are supposed to be.  We need 2
people with strong arms to carry the banner, 1 person to carry the player,
and as many other people as can walk for about an hour.  Schedule a return
trip for about 2:30.  MetroAcess will be able to get to the bus stop.  If
you want to stay, there will be food and other activities after the event.
