Subject: Participant needed. Help us improving accessible mobile and wearable computing (2-hour, $60 compensation)
Hi,
First of all. Thank you so much for your interest in participating our previous study.
Our research team is currently recruiting participants for a new study. So please let us know if you would like to schedule a study. More details is below.
------------------------------------
Greetings!
Our research team at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab at the University of Maryland is studying how to make the next generation of mobile and wearable computing technology more accessible.
For this project, we are recruiting participants who are blind or visually impaired, own a smartphone, and use a screenreader at least some portion of the time. All participants must be 18 years or older.
You will be asked to complete tasks with a smartphone or a hand-mounted wearable computing device. The tasks will be typical of daily activities, such as identifying objects, reading a document, or accessing a text message on a phone. We are also collecting basic demographic information and feedback on the mobile devices.
This study will be 2 hours long and will be conducted at our lab on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. In rare circumstances, we may be able to arrange a location that is more convenient to you. We will compensate you $30, and an extra $30 to help cover travel costs if the session is at a location you do not normally visit. You may choose to quit the study at any time.
To learn more or to sign up, please visit the study’s website: https://terpconnect.umd.edu/~lstearns/handsight
Alternatively, feel free to contact us by email uranoh at cs.umd.edu<mailto:uranoh at cs.umd.edu> or phone 202-527-9212<tel:202-527-9212>.
Sincerely,
Uran Oh
