Support Public Transportation and Its Workforce at the WMATA Public Town Hall Meeting

The purpose of these meetings will be to develop the “Public Agenda for Metro’s Future” that will be presented to the WMATA Board at their 2017 public hearing for the new budget.
Our brothers and sisters at the ATU, the OPEIU and the Teamsters need our help so that the priorities of WMATA remain in balance. WMATA must focus on providing affordable transportation in our area while protecting the livelihoods of its employees.

What: Montgomery County Town Hall
When: January 18th at 7pm
Where: Montgomery County Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville

Join Us @ the Women’s March on Washington

On Saturday, January 21, thousands of people from across the country will gather in the nation’s capital to participate in the National Women’s March on Washington (March).
UFCW members from across the U.S. and Canada will join in solidarity. They will stand with partners, children, and communities for the protection of jobs, women’s rights, safety, health, and families ̶ recognizing that vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.
The March will send a bold message to the new administration, and the world, that women’s rights are human rights.

What: Women’s March on Washington
When: January 21st at 8:30am
Where: Union members convene at Garfield Park, located at the intersection of 3rd and G Streets, SE.
Why: Women’s rights are human rights!
How to get there: Metro. Do not drive in. Buy your farecards in advance.

The March and rally will begin at the intersection of Independence Avenue and Third Street SW, near the U.S. Capitol. The program will feature nationally recognized artists, entertainers, advocates and other guest speakers. Wear Your UFCW Gold and Join Your Union Brothers and Sisters!
