On Proposed New Service Expansion

Effective: January 2018

The public is invited to learn more about and provide input on a new, limited stop service along US29 (Columbia Pike) called Route 129, which will operate between the Silver Spring Transit Center and the Burtonsville Park and Ride Lot with just 14 stops along the route.  Route 129 supplements the existing local service along US29 and is expected to provide a faster option for riders during rush hours.  Buses will operate every 15 minutes from 5:30 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Fares will be the same as regular Ride On fares and passengers will be able to load cash onto SmarTrip cards onboard.

The public forum will be held:

Date:  6:30 pm on November 29, 2017

The forum will end after the last registered speaker has presented their remarks.

If the public forum is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for November 30, 2017.

Whenever Ride On plans service changes, it conducts public forums to solicit comments prior to implementation of the new service. Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to speak at the public forum are requested, no later than three (3) days before the forum, to provide in writing their name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address and organization to mcdot.rideonpublicforums at montgomerycountymd.gov<mailto:mcdot.rideonpublicforums at montgomerycountymd.gov> or in writing to the Division of Transit Services, Ride On Public Forum, 101 Monroe Street, 5th Floor, Rockville, MD 20850. Those who have signed up to speak will have three minutes to present their views and must bring two printed copies of their testimony for the record.

Sign and non-English language translation services will be provided upon request by emailing
