The chapter meeting this Saturday will be at the Long Branch library, 8800
Garland Avenue. It will begin at 1:45.

Our day in Annapolis will be on Thursday, January 18. Every year we try to
visit all of the Maryland legislators to encourage them to pass legislation
that is of interest to us. We go around in teams to see each legislator. If
you are interested, please let me know.

we will be showing the movie "Do You Dream in Color" on Saturday, January
27, at the Davis Library, 6400 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda.

The Washington Seminar will begin on Monday, January 29. The main meeting
begins at 5:00, but there will be activities happening earlier. I will let
you know about them as soon as I find out.

We will be on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, January 30. We will be looking for
people to help us with that.

Also on January 30, there will be a special event at the Newseum from 6:00
to 8:30. I will need to let Sharon know who is attending the event at the
Newseum soon after the chapter meeting, because we will have name badges.
The event will feature photographs by John Olson from the Vietnam War. He
has produced these photographs in 3D so that blind people can touch them.
Please let me know if you are interested. We hope to bring legislators to
this event.

Please give us any orders for nuts. We have quite a few of some kinds.

We will be doing a spring raffle again this year. Tickets will be $5 and
numbers will be drawn throughout the month of May. You win $50 if your
number is drawn on aweekday or Sunday, and $100 if your number is drawn on
Saturday. If you want a particular 3-digit number, please let me know
before the beginning of February. We need money in hand for these
special-order numbers.

Please bring your money for Janice if you would like to participate in the
deaf-blind division raffle which she told us about earlier.

Congratulations to Janice, Tom, and Patty, who participated in the Maryland
braille contest. We have a good chance of having prize-winners in the
contest.

Debbie
