[Md-sligo] Help Needed and an Announcement

To adjust JAWS speech rate on the fly, not saving the change, use shift-ctrl-PgUp and shift-ctrl-PgDN. If you want to save the new speed for all programs and between sessions, add the Windows key to that combination.
To get a numerical reading (which probably isn’t a very accurate number of words per minute or percentage of baseline speed) you go to the JAWS control panel, cursor to Options, then find, I think, voice adjustment. In that dialog is a speed setting. I am using mostly Window-Eyes at home and JAWS at work.

Sharon,

I am not a geek. Can someone tell me where I can find the setting on my JAWS or PC. I am sure there are probably others that are clueless and my not do this because they can't immediately find the information. So instructions would be helpful.

Thanks in Advance,
Lets get our bills passed!

  Hello all,

Jonathan Lazar needs some information for an article that he is writing. Jonathan goes out of his way to help us whenever he can. For instance, he drove from Philadelphia to testify on our procurement bill. Please help him by sending an email to jlazar at towson.edu. Tell Jonathan what screen reader you use, and what speed you set it on to listen to your information. Please do it ASAP, but before Monday, March 12.

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
