Consider applying for an opportunity to work in a County Councilmember's Office The Montgomery County Council is introducing a Senior Fellows program. It is a unique opportunity for retired residents of Montgomery County to bring their wealth of knowledge and diversity of experiences and perspectives from varied careers and/or volunteerism to the offices of the County Council. Senior Fellows will be part of a Councilmember team assisting with ongoing projects, policy analyses and community outreach. Participants are expected to work part-time throughout the year (Jan-Dec 2020) and will receive a monetary stipend.

Prepare Now for Upcoming Snow Events
Homeowners are responsible for clearing snow from sidewalks surrounding their property. Snow must be removed from the sidewalk within 24 hours of the snowfall stopping, to allow pedestrians and people using wheelchairs to use them. If you are unable to clear the snow personally, it makes sense to ask a neighbor ahead of time to help out or to make an arrangement with a snow removal contractor.
