The Ride On changes are being proposed to minimize duplication of service within the US29 corridor and, in most cases, provide higher frequency service operating for more hours during the day.

FLASH is a 13.5-mile, limited stop service that will operate between the Silver Spring Transit Center and Burtonsville along the US 29 corridor and between the Silver Spring Transit Center and Briggs Chaney via White Oak. Buses will operate every 7.5 minutes during the peak of the AM and PM rush between the Burnt Mills and Silver Spring stations. Buses will run every 15 minutes at all other times and to other stations during middays, evenings and weekends. The FLASH will feature off-board fare collection, priority signaling, Wi-Fi and level-boarding through all doors to provide a faster ride. Stations will have real-time travel information.
