Subject: FW: Join Us - Vision Zero Town Hall Saturday Jan. 23, 2021 from 10
a.m. to 12 noon

Good afternoon members of the Pedestrian Plan Community Advisory Group,

I know it has been a while since we last connected. Staff continues working
on some exciting things, including the Pedestrian Level of Comfort map, a
Pedestrian Shortcut Map, a countywide pedestrian survey, and other efforts.

We hope we can schedule a virtual meeting with you all in March to share a
project update and findings from the Pedestrian Survey.

We wanted to bring this coming Saturday's virtual Vision Zero Town Hall to
your attention and suggest you send this invitation to your social networks.
The attached flyers convey the same information as the text below from
Councilmember Glass.

Please take care, and feel free to connect with me if a comment or question
about Montgomery County pedestrians crosses your mind.

Warmly,

Eli

Dear Neighbor,

2020 was marked by another unfortunate milestone with 18 pedestrians and
cyclists killed in traffic incidents in Montgomery County. The collisions
have most seriously impacted low-income and immigrant communities, who
comprise most non-motorist fatalities. It is clear that the county and state
must do more to make walking and biking safer in all of our communities.

Join Montgomery County Councilmember At-Large Evan Glass and Congressman
Anthony Brown next Saturday, January 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a
virtual Vision Zero conference to discuss road safety, the county's efforts
to implement Vision Zero and how residents can best advocate for safer
streets. The event is co-sponsored by the MCCPTA, CASA de Maryland,
Washington Area Bicyclists Association, Action Committee for Transit, Sierra
Club Montgomery County, and the Coalition for Smarter Growth.

These traffic fatalities are preventable and we as a county must do more to
make our streets and roads safer for all. I hope you will join us on the
23rd Use this link to RSVP: bit.ly/visionzero-townhall

Hope to see you there.

Best,

Evan Glass
