My first encounter with Eric Damery was when I installed JAWS for Windows
version 1.0. I was working for Blazie Engineering during the time JFW was
released. The company not only produced its own legendary products but was
also a distributor of many third party products, including JAWS for Windows
as well as JAWS for DOS. In January of 1995 I had to have my tonsils removed
and I was scheduled to be not working for two weeks while my throat was
recovering. I decided to use some of that time to learn this new JAWS screen
reader. Eric Damery, along with Ted Henter, recorded the first series of
cassettes introducing people to JFW 1.0. Eric has been introducing every new
version since and his presence will be greatly missed. I wrote to him to
wish him well and to thank him for his service to Vispero as well as to
their customers.

last time. After over 28 years tirelessly advocating for JAWS and other
software, and generally always being around to help users who are having
problems, he's decided to retire.  This time, rather than talking about a
