It is in the DC area and MetroAccess will go there. I don't know how long
the movie is.

The book on which the movie is based is also available on BARD. Reading the
book would be a good idea before you see the movie.

Hello all:

Saturday at the Greater Baltimore Chapter meeting, President Riccobono
mentioned a screening of a new Netflix series taking place the evening of
Wednesday, November 1, at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. Below
is more information about the screening, as received from Netflix. Please
let me know by no later than Friday, October 27, if you are interested in
attending this event. Importantly, the young actress who plays the lead role
is blind, representing a commitment to authentic casting by Netflix and the
producers of the limited series.
This is in no small part due to the advocacy of the National Federation of
the Blind.

Please note: Netflix has allotted sixty tickets for area members of the
National Federation of the Blind. I'll put interested individuals on the
list on a first-come, first-served basis. At this time, no group
transportation is planned.

If you are unable to attend the screening but wish to view the series, it
will be available on Netflix beginning November 2.

Warmly,

Chris

You are invited to a special screening of the Netflix limited series ALL THE
LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE, followed by a conversation with Shawn Levy
(Director/Executive Producer), Anthony Doerr (Author), and Joe Strechay
(Associate Producer/Blindness and Accessibility Consultant), moderated by
Jason Broughton (Director of the Library of Congress National Library
Service for the Blind and Print Disabled).

SCREENING DETAILS
Date: Wednesday, November 1, 2023
Time: 6:30PM Doors | 7:00PM Screening
Location: Library of Congress | Coolidge Auditorium (10 First St SE,
Washington, DC 20003)

This screening will be played with open audio descriptions and open
captions.

Note: The attached graphic includes the same information outlined above,
overlaid on a photo of Saint Malo, France.

Please RSVP to cdanielsen at nfb.org<mailto:cdanielsen at nfb.org> and kindly note
any accessibility needs for this screening (i.e.
wheelchair/companion seating).

Additional details will be sent ahead of the event.

We look forward to a wonderful evening!

nfb.org or +1 410-659-9314! The National Federation of the Blind knows that
blindness is not the characteristic that defines blind people or their
future. Every day we raise the expectations of and for blind people, because
low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. We
can live the lives we want; blindness is not what holds us back. Please join
