IMAGINEERING OUR FUTURE

-------------------------

PRESIDENT'S LETTER

We have a big family of people in the NFB who are constantly cooking up
innovative ways to advance the lives of blind people. It's made a
difference in my life, for my family, and thousands of people across the
country. More from President Riccobono [2].

ADVOCATING FOR ACCESSIBLE HOME APPLIANCES

I can remember quite vividly when I baked cakes with grandmother and
enchiladas with mama, a simple turn of the dial to 350 preheated the oven.
Learn more about how blind cooks are advocating for accessible home
appliances [3].

the gift of a contribution [5], and read Cole's essay about growing up
blind that contributed to him being selected as a national scholarship
winner. More ways to get involved [6].

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines blind people or their future. Every day we
raise the expectations of and for blind people, because low expectations
create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. We can live the lives
we want; blindness is not what holds us back. Please join us in our work by
becoming a member, attending an event, sharing this newsletter, or
supporting our programs.
