We hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer. This month, we are bringing you a more informative newsletter and we have two questions for you right from the star. We would be very grateful if you could send us your feedback.

News, Updates, Apps
In June, we updated BlindShell Classic 1 for you, which included fixing an issue in the Slovak library SKN.

In June, we updated following:
eKiosk - the app has been released with a new localization in Italian.

... you can customize the phone interface to better suit your needs? :-)
Let's go through the interesting and helpful options in the SETTINGS section.

SOUNDS
You can choose individual melodies and volume levels for the following areas: Alarm, Ringtone, Notifications, and Feedback Sounds.
You can also set the speech rate and language detection (meaning that when you open text in another language, the voice output will correctly read the text in that language), and you can even turn off the voice output.
However, we do not recommend turning off the voice output, as turning it back on requires the assistance of a sighted person.

Another interesting feature is the automatic announcement of the caller and the menu position indication (e.g., one of ten, etc.). If some of you find the menu position indication inconvenient, you can disable this in the settings.
The last important feature is the battery level announcement on the main screen and the alert when the battery is fully charged or is running out of power.

DISPLAY
You can adjust the brightness level of the display; the lower the level, the more battery you will save. Color schemes can be helpful for our visually impaired users. You can choose one of the more practical options: black on white, white on blue, black on yellow, or white on black. For the main menu, you can choose whether you want icons only or icons with text.
For the text, you can select the text size; for visually impaired users, a huge text size can be a good choice.

KEYBOARD
In the keyboard settings, you might find it helpful to adjust the options for deleting characters and repetition. You can choose whether to repeat by words, the entire text, or not repeat at all.
Additionally, you can choose whether to announce capital letters, highlight them with a higher-pitched voice, or not announce them at all.
Finally, you can decide whether or not to announce letters while reading.

We would be delighted if you could share with us whether you have customized your BlindShell to better suit your needs or if you have kept the default settings. You can also try changing the settings to see if they might suit you better. Thank you in advance for sharing! :-)
