We will be meeting this Saturday on Zoom. I will send the link later.
There are many chapter events happening this month in the chapter and in our
area.
The presidential release live will be on October 9 as part of the DC
convention. The event is at the Washington Plaza Hotel, 10 Thomas Circle
N.W. The event is from 6:00 to 10:00. The presidential release live starts
at 8:00. I will send Zoom information about that as soon as I have it.
We will have a book discussion of Helen Keller's book The Story of My Life
on Saturday, October 18, beginning at 2:00. The event is at the Rockville
Library, 21 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. Please invite family and friends.
On Saturday, November 1, we will be walking at Brookside Gardens beginning
at 10:00. This will be part of the Coast to Coast movement challenge, and
we hope to raise at least $250 as a chapter. I will be sending along
details on how to do this.
Our Bidding for Opportunity dinner and auction for our scholarship fund will
be on Saturday, November 15, at the College Park Knights of Columbus, 9450
Cherry Hill Road in College Park, from 5:00 to 9:00. In addition to our
usual dinner and auction, we will have music by the Tony Addison trio.
Please let me or Judy know what auction items you have.
There will be a makers market in Baltimore at our national headquarters, 200
East Wells Street in Baltimore, on Sunday, November 16, from 9:00 to 3:00.
Terry Powers, Terri Nettles, and Yasmin Reyazuddin will be selling craft
items there, and the chapter will be selling nuts. If you have friends who
make any crafts or any special items, you should encourage them to sign up
for this event. The cost of a table is $50. Tell your friends that the
event is indoors and parking is free in the NFB garage.
Nuts are being ordered, and a form will be available soon.
The November meeting will be in person at the Kensington Park library, 4201
Knowles Avenue, in Kensington. We will be holding elections then. If you
have not paid 2025 dues, please pay them so you can vote. Also, you may pay
2026 dues.
At this Saturday's meeting, we will be voting on an amendment to our
constitution to raise lifetime membership dues to $150 from $100.
See you on Saturday.
Debbie
