[MD-Sligo] Chapter meeting this Saturday

We will meet this Saturday at 1:30 on Zoom. The link is below.

The meeting will run a little later than usual because we will have a
special topic that will start at 3:00.  Allison Tyler of the Blind People's
Museum will talk to us about sharing our stories.  

There are several interesting events to participate in this month.  Most of
this information has been circulated or will be circulated.  

Wednesday, May 6: Presidential release live,   8 p.m.

Wednesday, May 13: A special session of the NFB of Maryland Employment
Committee with Jonathan Mosen presenting resources, including training.

Wednesday, May 20:  A meeting of the NFB of Maryland Senior Division about
travel.  We don't check your ID, so you don't have to be a senior to
participate.

Saturday, May 30: An advocacy session about volunteering.  1:30-4:00 p.m.

We will be participating in the Gaithersburg Book Festival on Saturday, May
16.  Let me know if you are coming.  If you are coming or going in the
middle of the day, either by car or by paratransit, let me know.  If  you
are coming by car, you have to take a shuttle from either the Shady Grove
Metro station or the County Fairgrounds.  If you are coming by MetroAccess,
you may be able to drop off at Gaithersburg High School, and we will have a
golf cart to meet you.  I will send along addresses later.

On June 13 we will be meeting in person at the Long Branch Recreation
Center, 8700 Piney Branch Road.  We will have a fencing demonstration by Ray
Finkelman.  

There is still candy left.  If you want milk chocolate or peanut brittle
bars, you may buy a box, or, if you are all paid up with the chapter, you
may take a box on consignment.  We are on the last box of dark chocolate.
If  you want any, let me know and I will hold it for you.  You need to pay
for the dark chocolate you order at the in-person meeting.
