The regulation removes an unnecessary burden for these individuals when applying for federal jobs and modernizes the terminology used to describe people with disabilities.</FONT></FONT></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Under the revised policies, candidates no longer need to supply a "certification of job readiness," a formal written assessment that the person can be reasonably expected to perform in a particular work environment. Agencies will be able to hire using Schedule A Hiring Authority after determining that the person is "likely to succeed" in performing the duties of the position, a decision that can be based on any relevant work, educational or other experience.</FONT></FONT></P>
