<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">The chapter meeting this Saturday will be at the Long Branch library, 8800 Garland Avenue, at 1:30.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> I know that there is a forecast for snow, but we will plan to meet unless something serious materializes. We have many things to do, so if the library is open and MetroAccess</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">is running, we will have a meeting.If I ever decide to cancel a chapter meeting, I will do so by 9:00 on the day of the meeting, and I wi</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">ll try to call everyone. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Our new NFB of Maryland president, Ronza Othman, will be coming to the meting on Saturday.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">We have several events in January. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> </SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">January 19—Louis Braille birthday. We will play games and demonstrate braille pro</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">ducts. It will be at the Davis Library, 6400 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda. The event will be from 2:00 to 4:00, but if you are coming to help out, be there by 1:00.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">January 24—Day in Annapolis. We will leave from Glenmont or New Carrollton at 7:00 and return to New Carrollton at 8 p.m. We will be walking around</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">the House and Senate buildings</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">and talking to legislators</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri"> We will discuss the issues on Saturday. Please let me know by then if you plan to go.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Monday, January 28—Great gathering-in meeting of the Washington Seminar. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">People from all over the country will gather at the Holiday Inn Capitol, 550 C Street S.W., in Washington, DC. The meeting is from 5:00</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> to 7:00 in the evening. There will be a legislative seminar and other events in the afternoon. Fact sheets about the issues are on the NFB’s website.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Tuesday,</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">January 29—Appointments on Capitol Hill and evening reception. I</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> will let you know about the app</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">ointments as they are scheduled.</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> The reception will be in the Capitol</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">Visitors Center from 5:30 to 7:00. I will let you know more about that as we get closer to the time.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P DIR=LTR><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">Saturday, April 6--Bid for Opportunity. </FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">This will be at the VFW-Morningside, where we were last year. Tickets will be $40. We will need auction items and people to buy them</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">.</FONT></SPAN></P>
