When you do a "Save As" right below where you put the name of the document there is another place.  There is a drop down window here.  Click on that and it gives you options on the format it is saved in.  Scroll down to "Rich Text".  Anytime you are going to send out a document you should use this because it is a "universal language".  Meaning anyone should be able to open it.

  I am not sure what rich text is, if you can tell me what it is I will try. I originally did this on Jason's net book while on bedrest after foot surgery. When I sent them from his net book which is Word 2007 to my PC which has Word 2003 I could not open them either. I had to download something from the Microsoft Web Site in order to open them on my PC. I can try sending from his net book. If you can't get them I can print and send hard copies with Ed to drop by.
