I will agree with Bob.   We did a lot of describing to Rachel when we took
her... and, I will say, we did not "jump to the front of the line" until our
second or third visit to the park, and it was at the impetus of the cast
members, not our request.  It is part of the whole experience.  

Nice to know that they offer the description and will probably try that this
year, just to see how it is!

Hi.  Alycia was 7, and still adjusting to her recent vision loss (she sees
out of the lower left corner of her left eye only w/ 20/400 vision.  The
rides that are dark to begin with were difficult for her to enjoy, but I
just did a quick search  on yahoo using "Disney World and Blind Visitors" 
and came up with a tremendous amount of information.  Most importantly, the
park now offers a descriptive devise to the visually impaired for over a
dozen of the attractions.  This would probably be better for your 5 year old
than your 3 year old.

You can also request a Guest Assistance Pass, which will enable you to avoid
long, dark lines that might disorient the kids and quite frankly, it is
boring in line when you can't see what's going on around you.  Perhaps you
can also request a one on one meeting with their favorite character.  We
found the park employees to be extremely helpful once we explained Alycia's
vision situation.

I'd recommend taking advantage of the daytime parades and the Epcot World
Showcase performances if your kids' vision will enable them to see any of
the performers; I believe there's a daily schedule so you can find out when
they are and get an up front spot.  Alycia loved "Soarin" in Epcot even
though she couldn't see the screen and thought Splash Mountain was tons of
fun.  She drove a car on the Grand Prix racetrack with our help @ the wheel
and with verbal clues.  The cars can't veer too far off the track anyway.

I'm sure if you start with an internet search, you will come up with many
ideas and further questions.
