This one-day special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas:
* special education law, rights and responsibilities
* tests and measurements to measure progress & regression
* SMART IEPs
* introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy.
Wrightslaw programs are designed to meet the needs of parents, educators, health care providers, advocates and attorneys who represent children with disabilities regarding special education. The program is not disability specific. Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Conference is being sponsored by The Parents' Place of Maryland.




SENSORY FRIENDLY MOVIE EVENT: FINDING NEMO

AMC Theaters Columbia Mall
During this showing of "Finding Nemo" lights will be kept up and the volume will be kept down. Sensory breaks are encouraged. Doors open at 9:30 and the movie starts at 10:00 with no trailers. Sponsored by The Howard County Autism Society and AMC Theatres Columbia Mall. Tickets are $6 a person at the door.
