Hello families,

We wanted to remind parents to register for the National Federation of the
Blind of Maryland state convention. The convention is being held February
13-16 in ocean City. The Maryland Organization of parents of Blind Children
will be holding our annual seminar at the convention. This year we have an
exciting agenda planned for you. Parents will undergo an extensive legal
rights workshop that will explain all the legal protections for children
within the State of Maryland. Topics will include IEPs, requirements for
accessible technology, and strategies for when advocacy efforts stall.
Additionally, we will have a time set aside for parents to visit with the
various venders throughout the state. We will also have a demonstration of
accessible technology in which parents will learn how the technology can
help their child. Lastly, parents will learn about programs for infants and
toddlers, and transitional programs for older teens.

We will have day care for children for ages six weeks to ten years- old. We
will also have an exciting program for our teens and tweens for children
ages 11 to 17 years old. The agendas for these programs will be coming out
in the coming weeks.

Please do not miss this exciting programing. To find out more about the
