Hello-

I am new to the list and wanted to introduce myself. I am the mother of a 3 year old girl named Isabella. We live in Rockville, MD and recently moved here from AZ. Bella was born with PHPV, and does not have vision in her right eye. Her left eye is healthy and she wears glasses. Bella previously wore a shell in her right eye, but we've put it on hold until she starts kindergarten. She previously required OT and PT b/c of Torticollis and limited use of her right arm, but no longer needs it at this time. She's not currently involved in early intervention b/c she no longer has delays in any developmental areas. However, I'm interested in looking into O & M services through Montgomery County Public Schools. Bella also has ongoing hearing issues, and had ear surgery #4 yesterday afternoon.

I'm interested in connecting with other families in the area for play dates. I'd also appreciate any information regarding experiences using MCPS' Vision Services, and referrals to disability sports opportunities for preschool children.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to participating on this listserv.

Cheers,

Jessica

--

Jessica Nadine Hernandez, MLS
