Good afternoon Michigan Association of Blind Students,
As you may or may not know, one of our members Renee N., was dealing with some very serious family issues as of late. She has asked that we reach out to the membership to share her story, update the situation and make everyone aware. Renee's father was very sick and in the hospital for the entire month of March and unfortunately he passed away on March 26TH, 2026. As you can imagine this is an extremely tough time for Renee and her family. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate unchartered territory.
They will be holding a celebration of life memorial service on Saturday April 11th, at Christ Lutheran church. The address is 12500 Canal RD, Sterling Heights MI. The service will begin at 11:00AM and a meal will be served around 12:30PM. Everyone is invited to attend, or you can send sympathy flowers to that address on that date. Danielle has been in very close contact with Renee, so if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to her.
Let's all take a moment of silence after reading this as a moment of remembrance of Renee's father.
The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
Sincerely,
Jeffery Crouch
