Quinn,
Welcome, I'm glad you are here. This list is so quiet I wonder sometimes if it is working. <smile>
I can't give you step by step instructions, but can try to point you in a couple of possible directions.
First, here is a general description of what must happen. Basically, what you have to do is to "unzip" the content of each book
you download into its folder. It is my understanding that there is an unzip program on the MAC, but you have to be careful that
you get all of the files associated with a book into a folder. Each BARD book that you download consists of a couple of dozen
files, and it is a pain to find them all if you don't make sure they go into a folder. Anyone familiar with a MAC can probably
tell you how to do that. Once you have the books unzipped into their own folders, you need to copy each folder onto the Stream
into the Talking Book folder. You either must connect the Stream to your computer, or take out the SD card and put it in the SD
Card slot on your MAC if you have one. If your MAC has an SD card slot, placing the card in that slot is the fastest way to
transfer material to the stream. Transferring data to the stream using the USB cable with the SD card remaining in the stream is
much slower. Virtually all of these steps are steps that someone familiar with the MAC can be of help with.
If you don't have anyone handy who is a MAC expert and if nobody else here has an answer for you, I know that there are som MAC
users on the NFBNET's GUI-Talk list. Joining that list and asking your question there should get you more detailed step by step
instructions. You can subscribe to that list by going to
http://www.nfbnet.org/mailman/listinfo/gui-talk_nfbnet.org
and subscribe there. There is a list for blind MAC users somewhere as well, but I don't have that information here at work.
Good luck.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson
