[Minnesota-Talk] Using A Snow Blower

Lorraine and Dave,

I can only speak to my particular snowblower, but it needed to be pushed so the snow would feed in. This is a little different than a lawn mower. However, there could be models that could be pulled.

Love,

Steve

What a pretty puzzle, Dave.
First cogitation: I wonder why you couldn’t treat the blower machine like pulling a nonelectric lawn mower? As tall as the snow banks are on each side of your sidewalk, surely it is easy to feel where the sidewalk must be hiding under new snow. But I don’t know whether one hand has enough strength or control to pull a snowblower if the other is using a cane. Plus, using your foot against the side wall will collapse snow from the embankment onto your sidewalk. And I don’t know if the mechanics work if one is pulling the snowblower. Who do you know that will let you experiment (but I hope not this week in the extreme cold).

Alternatively: Having a rope shoulder-high to feel (but could you when in a winter coat?) and keep you on the straight path would let you go straight ahead with a snowblower to clear a sidewalk. Then what would signal you to stop? Are there curves?
Yup. A pretty puzzle. Umm, Good luck!
