Parents of Children with Disabilities -OSEP Wants To Know Your Opinion!

 

Dear Parents,

 

The  US Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs
(OSEP)  in Washington, DC is visiting Missouri's Department of  Elementary
and Secondary Education (DESE), Division of Special Education for a
verification visit to learn how the Individuals with Disabilities Education
Act (IDEA) is working for Missouri families and their children. 

 

OSEP has asked that parents take a brief survey (see links below) to share
their experiences. Please participate in OSEP's collection of data by taking
the survey, either online or in a printed format. OSEP's Part B survey may
be found online at:

Part C survey may be found online at:

have received this letter from an MPACT staff member in person. Please fill
out the attached survey and return it to the staff member, or mail it to the
MPACT state office or FAX to 816 531-4777. Responses are confidential:
names, counties and email or postal addresses will not be used and results
will be presented in summary form.   Your opinion is valuable and will help
OSEP evaluate the impact of IDEA.

providing information to OSEP that may assist them in their verification
visit of MO-DESE's Division of Special Education!

We have been charged with getting this letter and two surveys to parents by
OSEP.  We need to collect and summarize survey data and comments and submit
to OSEP by September 14th. The surveys have been posted on Survey Monkey;
the links are included in the attached letter. We are asking for your
assistance in disseminating the letter to as many list serves, parents and
parent support groups as possible and the letter will go up on our Facebook
site(s), and our website - www.ptimpact.org
