I can post it to the POBC Presidents list.
Thank you,
Carol

Dear NFB and POBC Presidents,

The National Organization of Parents of Blind Children is seeking recommendations for our next Parent Leadership Program--PLP--to be held at the 2014 Washington Seminar. Do you have a new parent who shows the commitment and leadership potential to help build the parents division in your state? If so, please send us the name and contact information and we will send an invitation for the parent to become a part of the PLP. Please send us names & contact info by Nov. 12. Parents from your state who are already in the program will also be sent invitations. We hope that your affiliate or state POBC can assist in getting the parent to DC. Unfortunately, we can no longer provide funding.

The PLP operates over two years and consists of special workshops and training sessions, mentoring, phone conferences, and opportunities to meet key Federation leaders and see the Federation in action. We empower parents with the critical leadership and advocacy skills they need to build a strong state division of the NOPBC. Our main events take place at the NFB national convention and at the Washington Seminar.

Since 2006, the PLP has been a very effective program for building the Federation and spreading Federation philosophy to families across the nation. If you are not sending a parent but you would like to help support the program, we would welcome and be most appreciative of your donation.

We look forward to hearing about potential leaders from your state. We will keep you informed as to who accepts the PLP invitation. Thanks so much for your help!

Carol

Carol Castellano
Parents of Blind Children-NJ
Director of Programs
National Organization of Parents of Blind Children
973-377-0976
carol_castellano@verizon.net
www.blindchildren.org
www.nfb.org/parents-and-teachers
