Subject: Survey from the Minnesota STAR Program

Hello,
In 2014, the Minnesota STAR Program will be developing a free,
accessible online training tool to increase assistive technology
awareness and skills, and we want your feedback to help us in our
planning and design!
The target audience of this training will be Minnesotans with
disabilities between 16 and 64 years of age, with the training
materials geared to students entering post-secondary education or
transitioning into employment, as well as adults transitioning into
employment from a correctional setting. Please complete the survey
with this in mind and share with us your previous experience and
knowledge of assistive technology needs in the community.
Please complete the survey by the end of the day on February 13, 2014.
The purpose of this survey is to gather information based on your
previous experience and knowledge of assistive technology needs in
the community. We are at the beginning stages of the project and are
seeking feedback which will help inform our planning and design stages.
Please note: For the purposes of this survey, a "user of assistive
technology" is someone who is currently using assistive technology or
has used it in the past. Assistive technology is defined as "...any
item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired
commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to
increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals
with disabilities." [20 U.S.C. Chapter 33, Section 1401 (25)].
If you have questions, would prefer to receive this survey in a
different format, or would like to discuss these topics with us
directly, please contact Jennie Delisi, Assistive Technology Resource
Specialist at 651-201-2295 or
