Hello to all:

Here are the notes from our meeting this evening. If anything is amiss with
these notes, please speak up! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all!

Meeting Notes
At large Members of NFB of Minnesota
December 21, 2014
7:00 PM

Present: Aaron Cannon, Dave Andrews, Janiece Duffy, Jennifer Dunnam

The group was some smaller this month than last month, likely due to the
holidays. However, the meeting was lively and productive yet concise as we
continued to work on organizing an at-large chapter of the NFB of Minnesota.

The group first discussed the creation of an email list for communication by
this group between meetings. Dave Andrews will create a list on NFBNet and
write a paragraph discussing the purpose of the list. Jennifer will send
Dave the email addresses of the people on last month's call and some others
who had specifically expressed interest so that they can be subscribed to
the email list. The list will show on the public lists of NFBNet.

Jennifer and Candice found some drafts of other at-large chapter
constitutions. Once the listserve is set up, Jennifer will send out a draft
of a constitution for the group to discuss by email leading up to approval.

A good question was raised about how to include people in this group who do
not use computers or email. Aaron and Janiece agreed to call people as
needed between meetings. A general NFB of Minnesota call banking was held
earlier today during which some people without email expressed interest in
the at-large chapter.

The deadline for submissions to the next issue of the Minnesota Bulletin is
December 31. Aaron Cannon agreed to send Tom Scanlan, bulletin editor, a
blurb about this group. He also agreed to be the contact for people who are
interested and have questions.

Jennifer reminded the group about the NFB of Minnesota Day at the Capitol on
January 21. The need for increased funding for senior services will be a
primary issue.

Everyone on the call indicated that they have access to the national
presidential releases, by podcast or otherwise. There is now a phone number
to call and listen to the presidential release, which could be useful if a
chapter decides to play the release during a conference call, or for people
who do not use computers. Jennifer will send this number to this group.

Members were urged to continue to think and talk about ideas for useful and
interesting items for agendas for future meetings.

The next meeting will be January 18 at 7:00 PM (Third Sunday of the month)

The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:30.

Respectfully submitted,
Jennifer Dunnam
