Subject: Seeking role models for upcoming workshops
Good morning,
Within the next school year, State Services for the Blind will be offering workshops that correspond to Minnesota Career Fields. The purpose of the workshops are to promote career exploration and mentoring opportunities. High school and college students will learn from adults with a vision loss who are already working in the fields. They will be able to connect with peers, role models, and potential employers in order to learn about techniques and strategies for successful employment.
We are asking your help in finding volunteers to be role models at these workshops. Interested people should contact sheila.koenig at state.mn.us<mailto:sheila.koenig at state.mn.us> with their job title and employer name. Sheila will follow up with specific workshop information.
Classes will be planned around the following Minnesota Career Fields:
1. Business, Management, and Administration
2. Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources
3. Arts, Communications, and Information Systems
4. Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technology
5. Health Science Technology
6. Human Services
Many thanks for your collaboration and support.
Warmly,
Sheila Koenig
