[MN-at-Large] An Important Note on Voting by Mail

Fellow Federationists,

A late-breaking decision by the court appeals has determined that ballots
received after 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening will not be accepted. This is
important for anyone who is planning to vote absentee or by mail and has not
sent in their ballot yet. If you have not put your ballot in the mail, the
secretary of state's office now recommends that you drop it off at the
elections office that sent out your ballot  rather than assuming the postal
system will get it there in time.

If you live in a large enough metro area to be able to use the Lyft ride
share service, you should know that, thanks to a partnership between the
National Federation of the Blind and Lyft, the blind community will have
access to free or discounted transportation to get to the polls between now

If you are not able to make use of ride sharing services, there is
information on the above page about how to work with an authorized agent to
submit your ballot.

Participating in the democratic process is a right we continue to fight for
as blind people, and I encourage you to exercise that right if you have not
already done so.
