[MN-at-Large] Legislative Action Alert: Subminimum Wages Bill in the House

Dear Federation Members,

 

The bill with provisions that would phase out subminimum wages was heard in
the Senate Human Services Committee yesterday, and the discussion on 14(c)
was significant and lively, with supporters out in force. Next steps in the
Senate are yet to be determined, but in the house, there will be a hearing
on Thursday at 1:00 in the Human Services Finance Committee, State Office
Building - Room 200, on its companion bill, HF2847. 

 

Again this time, committee members need to hear from Federation members
urging them to support the proposal to eliminate subminimum wages for people
with disabilities in Minnesota. Anyone can contact these committee members,
and if you are a constituent of any of these you should mention that in your
contact. Whether you can do them all, or you only have time to do one or a
few, your help will mean a lot.

The simple message is "please support the proposal in HF2847 to phase out
subminimum wages in Minnesota."
