Hello, Chapter Members!

 

Meetings of the Metro Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of
Minnesota take place on the third Saturday of every month, and August is no
exception. 

This Saturday, August 15, the meeting will be held at the Minneapolis
Central Library Downtown, in the usual Room S-275 (AKA the small board room,
AKA the RKMC boardroom)-see below for directions.

Among other things, we'll be planning for some outreach events, catching up
on our advocacy efforts, and discussing

Golden Rule, the Platinum Rule, and the Right to Speak for Ourselves, an
article by Gary Wunder from the July Braille Monitor. If you can, please
read the article ahead of the meeting.

We had such a fantastic picnic a couple weeks ago, that perhaps people might
like another round of summer outdoor time with Federation friends. if
there's interest after the meeting this Saturday, we'll get together for
rides and go to the  <https://www.seasaltmpls.com/> Sea Salt Eatery at 4801
Minnehaha.

*       Address: Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis

*       Room: The meeting is in S-275, not far from the escalator. Take the
escalator to the second floor, then hook around to the right; walk a little
ways, and the room will be in a small hallway on your left. There are
elevators in the library as well.

*       Getting There: Many bus lines stop near the library, as do the Metro
blue and green lines. Nicollet Mall is on the east side of the library, and
Hennepin Avenue is on the west; entrances are on either side.

We'd love to see you there in person, but, as always, a virtual option will
be available if you can't make it to the library. That info is below.
