David,

The Lone Star Chapter of the NFB of Texas meets for about an hour each
month. Our entire chapter has access to the Internet and podcasts, so we
simply remind everyone to listen to the presidential release when we send
out our monthly meeting announcement. Then, we discuss the release, as
well as issues that are going on in our affiliate. We spend most of our
time discussing how our members can participate in either national or
state sponsored activities, and that has made our chapter one of the most
active in the affiliate. You can't move five feet at an affiliate event
without running into one of our members, and we are working on making
that true for activities like the national convention. We could probably
spend more time talking about philosophy, but as the chapter's first
president, I decided to focus on getting people away from their rural
communities and involved. That allows them to be around people who have a
good philosophical foundation and helps to develop chapter members who
understand what we are all about by doing what other Federationists
do.

I don't know that this is very helpful, but it is working well for us.
Good luck with your chapter.

quite young and small, and are discussing what we want to happen
